Wigford Farm is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty,
within easy reach of the unspoilt coastline of the South Hams and rolling hills of Dartmoor.
The farm is a relaxing place to unwind and re-energize in an
idyllic and peaceful rural location. There are beautiful walks from the door, through the woods and down the
valley to the river Avon. We are within a couple of miles of Loddiswell village, which has a shop, pub and post
office, and the market town of Kingsbridge is five miles away.
Kingsbridge has a leisure centre, with a swimming
pool, lots of good local food shops and an independent cinema.
Wigford is divided into two houses and guests have the Georgian
front half with its pretty garden, while owners Ant and Jules live in the discreet 16th century part at the
back. The house comfortably sleeps six to eight and has three bedrooms, one with double bed and en-suite,
another double and
one with bunk beds and there are also two sofa beds in the living room. It is stylishly furnished with restored
Ercol furniture, with flokati rugs and market treasures. Clean
bed linen and towels are provided.
The accommodation is very family-friendly with plenty of space
for kids to run around. It has its own private large garden
overlooking the beautiful valley, and there is also an
additional acre of garden to explore, with a tree-house, swings
and croquet lawn. There's also a large farmyard to play in, a
selection of bikes to use and a games room with table tennis and
table football. In the house there are plenty of toys, books and
DVDs, and an array of baby equipment is provided including cot,
highchair and stairgates.
We are within a half an hour drive of trendy market town Totnes,
which has a mainline station, and the beautiful seaside towns of
Salcombe and Dartmouth, which are all fabulous places to visit.
Our nearest beach is Bantham, which is great for surfing and
making sandcastles and has stunning views over to Burgh Island.
There are plenty of other beautiful beaches within an easy
drive.
The house has a fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker,
dishwasher and washing machine, but if you don't fancy catering
every night, professional cook Jules can provide fresh home made
food using locally sourced ingredients including Wigford's own
vegetables and eggs.
Short breaks are available but not at peak holiday times.
Sorry no pets.
At Wigford we care very much about the environment we live in,
and we aim to be as green as possible.
Please don't hesitate to call or email Jules and Ant for any
additional information.
We hope you decide to come and stay here, and we will do our
best to make your holiday a great one!
